You might consider looking a little farther south in LA for your ALSTONs...

I have a John D. ASLTON who was born in Clairborne, Co., MS in 1802 and m. in St. Landry Parish LA in 1838.

John's offspring are tied in with the BERRY family and the ROYER and PERKINS families. I also have a ROYER/BERRY marriage or two in St. Landry Parish as well..

John D. ALSTON is the son of John McCoy ALSTON of Jefferson Co., MS...
