The September-October 2010 issue of Antiques Magazine on p. 81 in an advertisement pictures a c. 1830 miniature portrait of William Ashe Alston (1813-1842) possibly of Charleston, South Carolina. I am scanning this excellent photo of the portrait in case any of the descendants might like a copy freely by email. Someone in the Alston family ought to have it--it is too good to be missed by the family. It may not have a lot of genealogical value, but it certainly does have a lot of family and artistic value. I am not of the family and know nothing further about him. My email address can be found by clicking on my underlined name above. Please reply to me at my email address rather than leave a message on this Genforum site, which I might not see. Note that there is a hard to see dot between both parts of my email address. If it were a portrait of a Pease gentleman of the time, I'd certainly want someone to do the same for me. Bill Pease Lancaster, PA Notify Administrator about this message?
