My great aunt, who adopted and raised my father, was a Catherine Pemberton (Kate) Alston, born 15 Sep 1874. All documents available to me (very few) indicate her place of birth as Kcici, Georgia. She died an old maid in the 50's. I know her grandparents spent the civl war in a homestead there (her father was a Confederate officer in Texas), and that they collected their mail at Clarksville, Habersham County, GA, so their place couldn't have been very far from Clarksville. I have been totally unable to locate either Kcici or their property. Would appreciate any incite any can give me on where to look next.
