My database shows a James Alston, Sr. in Elbert Co., GA during the time you noted. He was the son of James Alston and Christian Lillington of Chowan Co., NC and was born abt 1747 in Chowan Co. He married Grizel (Gilly) Yancey in Orange Co., NC on 24 mar 1774. They had 7 children - Nathaniel, Sarah, Charity,Martha, John, Hannah and Elizabeth. Hope this info helps.....
