A Question.

My 3rd greatgrandfather, Lemuel Austin Cook, was born on May 12, 1807, in the Greenville district, South Carolina. On the first page of his Bible, however, is clearly written " Lemuel Alston Cook ". Alston never again appears in this Bible, or in any other record which we have. Therefore, was this a mistake, or was he originally named Lemuel Alston Cook? His father was James Watson Cook, and his mother Mary Riddle.
