I am an antique dealer and collector and recently purchased an original muster roll pay document for "a Detachment of Ordnance, of the Army of the United States, commanded by Captain & Brevet Lt. Col. D.W. Flagler". It is for the pay period of April 30, 1866 to June 30, 1866. It is quite detailed and in very good condition. At bears the signatures of all of the payees, some signing with an X. One of the soldiers is William Alston.
It is also signed by the Lt. Col. at the Augusta (Georgia) Arsenal who indicates that discipline, instruction, military appearance, arms and accoutrements are all good but the uniform coats are to small and of inferior quality.
Many of the soldiers have extensive remarks beside their names indicating promotions, sickness, desertions and reenlistments. Each soldier's rank is also listed along with when, where and by whom he enlisted, and when last paid. Below is a list of the soldiers on the roll:
D.W. Flagler - Captain and Bvt. Lt. Col.
J.W. Magruder - Acting Assitant Surgeon
Hugh Hearne - Sergeant
John Langan - Sergeant
William Barnes - Corporal
Owen McGuire - Corporal
Benjamin Thomas - Corporal
James Walsh - Corporal
Michael Daley - Corporal
Privates First Class:
Joseph M. Kistler
Privates 2nd class:

J.H. Martys - Ordance Sergeant (transferred)
