Hi, Cameron,
In looking at census records, I see that Robert H. Alston, Sr., b. c. 1836 in Mississippi, is living in Chambers Co., Texas in 1860 with who I assume is his brother, William J. Alston and his wife, Lizzie. There are two young children in the household, Virginia M., b. c. 1857, and Robert H., b. in Texas in c. 1859. It is possible that this Robert H., who I believe to be the son of William J. and Lizzie is being confused with other Robert H.'s. It is also possible, however, that Robert H. Sr. was a widower at the time of the census and both or either of these children are his...possibilities.
