Line of Descent for Willie Augusta Alston Warren:
Colonel Philip Alston b. 1740 Halifax Co. NC and his wife Temperance Smith born in Scotland Neck, Halifax Co. NC
Their son:
James Alston b. 10 Nov 1769 in Chatham Co. NC d. 6 May 1841 in Wyatt, Marshall Co. MS. (Buried Alston Cemetery, Old Wyatt, Marshall Co. MS) who married Mary Jane ‘Polley’ Wilcox/Willcox b. 17 Mar 1755 in Gulf, Cumberland Co. NC. (Married about 1791/1792). They had 12 children. One of them was:
Philip Henry Alston b. 27 Oct 1801 in Chatham Co. NC (he was 5th child of 12). He died 13 May 1879 in Weldon, Houston Co. TX. He married Eliza ‘M.’ Alston b. 3 Apr 1808 in GA. They married in 1928 in Telfair County, GA. (They had six children together born in GA and Mississippi, one of which was Robert H. Alston Sr below.) Philip Henry Alston married 2nd Elizabeth T. Wilson on 26 Mar 1878. Philip H. and Eliza M. are buried in the Hutchings-Alston-Haden Family Cemetery in Weldon, Houston Co. TX.
HUTCHINGS-ALSTON-HADEN FAMILY CEMETERY - Eastham Farm
Cemetery about 4 miles west of Weldon on Eastham State Farm. Originally, this was the Trinity River plantations of the Alstons, Hutchings and Hadens, now owned by the State of Texas Department of Corrections. The cemetery is left of drive inside the gates by a small lake; it is fenced and well cared for by the wardens of the institution. Original census taken by Hollis Moore, Mrs. E. W. Muenker and Mr. And Mrs. J. B. Dodd. The unmarked graves and the relationships supplied by a descendant of the families: James L. Worthington, Elkins Lake, Box 94, Huntsville, Tx. 77340.

The fourth child of Philip Henry Alston and Eliza M. Alston was Robert H. Alston SR born 1836 in Marshall Co. MS. His grave is in the cemetery listed above, but as you see it does not say when he died. I have as yet not found out who he married or how many children they had. However it indicates that he had a son Robert H. Alston, JR who married Mollie Mary Cabiness, the mother of Willie Augusta Alston.
Robert H. Alston, Jr. born 1859 is on the 1870 census for Houston Co. TX living with his grandfather Philip Henry Alston. He is on the June 1880 census for Houston Co TX living alone and farming at age 21. I am trying to find out more about Robert Alston Sr. I have read that a very large yellow fever epidemic hit that area in those years and perhaps the family had a tragedy. I don’t know. Willie Augusta Alston’s Bible says that her mother and Robert H. Alston married in 1880, so it must have been after June 1880. They married in Houston Co. TX. According to Mollie Mary (Cabiness) Alston, they had five children, only one of whom survived to 1900 (Willie Augusta Alston born 13 Aug 1887 in Huntsville, Walker Co. TX).
I have found two of the graves of the other children, older siblings to Willie Augusta, in the Hutchings-Alston-Haden Cemetery and the other two may be there as one transcription indicated some were deteriorated:
Bernice Alston born 1882 died 1896 (age 14)
Winston Scott Alston born 2-15-1885 died 10-31-1885 (age 8 months)
Willie Augusta Alston married in 1907 Lonnie Dee Warren, eldest son of Uriah George ‘Duncan’ Warren and Catherine 'Kit' Thompson. She died of TB on 2 June 1920 and is buried in Old City Cemetery, Rusk Co. TX with her mother Mollie Mary (Cabiness) Alston.
