Have nothing on your Eliza, however, the following message was from genforum in the past (before my documentation was as complete as it is now. My apologies to the author for not citing your name.) "From a letter written in Jan 1899 by Mrs. Nannie V. Alston of Jackson, TN: Philip Alston removed to Jackson, TN where he died, leaving three sons, James, John and Philip; also some daughters, among whom were Mrs. Louisa Fussell, of AK. John died many years ago leaving a daughter. Philip died abt 1895 leaving a son, James Blackmore Alston. James (uncle of previous) died many years ago leaving an only son, John, (husband of letter writer)., who d. in Oct 1885, age 37 yrs. Leaving 2 sons, Louis and JOhn. There was a emigration of the entire family of Col. Philip Alston from NC after the Revolution, and the county records of Chathan and Moore offer nothing in the way of wills or deeds. Died in Texas near Iron Bridge." I also have that Mary Jane Wilcox was from Fayettville, NC. I have no Alstons with the name of Eliza M. or Elizabeth M. who are not accounted for, however, there are many out there in that time period who are not my direct line, and for whom I have no information. I will add her to my file, and will post it if I find anything. Happy hunting. Notify Administrator about this message?
