The first clue is that most of her ALSOP siblings in this family moved to either DC or Maryland. The second clue was there were no Farmers in 1900, 1910, or 1920 in Spots.

In the 1900 Census, DC, Series: T623 Roll: 163 Page:14,
Looks like.. 603 Callan ST, NE, Dwg 242-285
FARMER, William Head Feb 1865 VA VA VA md 16 yrs
Mary Wife Jul 1855 VA VA VA 10/2 children
Clara Nov 1886 VA
Cassie Feb 1888 VA
Annie Feb 1891 DC
Minnie Jan 1892 DC
Nellie Aug 1893 DC
Tom Aug 1895 DC Twins!
George Aug 1895 DC
Clarence Apr 1899 DC

The image for William's occupation seems to say "Hostler"
Also, it is odd that Mary stated 10/2 children, as there were 8 children that were enumerated. (Could this have been a second marriage for her?)
Based on the facts that were in the Census, this looks like the family you are seeking.
