I have written two books on the Alsop family and if you are interested in the big picture of this family, let me know and I will give you information on how to order them.
The Alsop that you mentioned in your post is Darwin Alsop, who was living in Carbon Co., Wyoming in 1920.He was age 19 in that census year and was living with his mother Addie L. Ward Alsop Minks and his stepfather Joseph Minks.Darwin's father Charles Alsop had died 17 Feb. 1908 and was born 16 March 1866 in Bourbon Co., Kansas. They did live near Uniontown, Kansas.Brothers and sisters of Darwin were Narcissa, Mildred, Flora, and Charles Alsop, Jr.Charles was the son of Levi and Mary M. Barger who moved from DeWitt Co.,Illinois to Bourbon Co., Kansas in 1859 and lived near Bronson when they first arrived. Levi was the son of John Alsop and Mary Fielding and was born in Derbyshire, England, 17 Oct. 1829.This family immigrated to DeWitt Co., Illinois about 1845 as Levi and Mary were married there on 21 April 1845.
