I have at least four "Micajah"s in my database thus far and our own great-great grandfather might be a William Micajah Alsobrook. I do know his middle initial is M. I expect to find out the M stands for Micajah or Marshall. I have yet to discover MY William M's parents. I do know there is another William M born to Simons Dozier and for awhile hoped that was MY William M despite the two years age difference, but I've since managed to find that William M and his name IS Micajah but he is a totally different William. <sniff>

Back to the Micajahs:

There is Micajah T. "Alex" Alsobrook b. in 1794 to one of the first of seven James Cary Alsobrooks. This Micajah married Chloe Simmons.

Then there is Micajah who was born in 1819. He married Suzannah D. Almon. His father was Asa Alsobrook. Asa was the son of a different James C (probably Cary) Alsobrook.
These two connect in that they are descendants of Howell Sr. Alsobrook.

Then there is Micajah T. "Mike" Alsobrook b. 1853 who married Sophronia S. Rowell. His father was William A or M Alsobrook. His grandfather is that same Asa.

Then there is the William Micajah I mentioned above. He was b. 1863. His father was Simmons D. Alsobrook, a sheriff and a hero. He is the grandson of Micajah T. "Alex" Alsobrook.

So, yes, all these Micajahs are connected. They all come down through Howell Sr.

I just have no idea if MY William is connected to them. Or to a string of Alsobrooks with the middle name "Marshall".

My William started out b. in SC. Married in TN. Moved to LA, but died a CSA private at Vicksburg on Christmas Day 1862, not far across the river from where he lived.
