Phil, I was in Chesterfield, S. C. last week researching Carters and on the deed for G. W. Carter was a platt showing E. D. Worley's land adjacent to it recorded May 27, 1871. Also, the 1850 census for Chesterfield District dated 13 Dec 1850 listed:
Willis W. Alsobrook 58
Elizabeth P. 38
Franklin L. 23
William 16
Jane Powell 24

Lemuel H. Alsobrook 50
Caroline M. 40
Mary C. 7
Colon McQuage 21
Could be E. D. Worley is a relative of Joseph. Hope this helps.

Kathy
