Hello,
My name is Michael Baptista. My paternal grandmother is Neomia De Almeida Lopes. She is one of 12 I believe. Her older siblings immigrated to California before she was born, in the 1920's or 30's. her parents are Manuel De Almeida Lopes and Maria De Estrela. This family originated in the Logoa, Soa Miguel area, but moved to Faial. My grandmother and her next older sister were the only ones to move back to Sao Miguel. She is still alive and lives in Ponta Delgada. I would like to contact relatives to find out more about my family name.
