I have Almas in HRVATSKA ("Croatia") and Almasy in the "BATSHCA", Almas I believe means Apple /Orchard /Picker.
Mine were said to be Serbian, while the documents say Slavonian. They lived on the border "The Danube" of Srem and the Batschca / Vojvidina. And a couple married Donauschwabens. So far they seem to be related to Hoffmans Selingers Marvans and Aschbergers.
