The Great Migration Begins, in chapter called "Phantom File", sorry, I copied below where the pg number is, but should be easily findable in that chapter: "Two Samuel Allens, one of Braintree, and one of Windsor, have been claimed pre-1634 arrivals, and both have been placed on the Mary & John. The earliest record for a Samuel Allen in Massachusetts Bay is an admission to freemanship on 6 May 1635 [MBCR 1:370]. On this basis, the most that we can say is that at least one of the Samuel Allens was in New England by 1634." (PS: The 1634 date is because not many ships landed in the spring.nmt) __________ Under sketch for William Allen, 1602-1679 of Cape Ann, Salem and Manchester, pp 31-35. Associations: "Probably brother of Robert Allen of Salem, Manchester and New London (based on joint grant of land on 25 January 1642/3, and the simultaneous residence in Manchester (see Granberry 146 and Essex Ant 2:135]). ____________ Under sketch of a Robert Allen, p 31... says "there are cogent reasons for thinking (the Robert Allen in the sketch) is a different man (than Robert Allen of Manchester and Salem.)" (parenthesis mine)
