Do you mean to imply that you believe Robert Allyn of Norwich, died bef 1683, the subject of this thread, is of this family? To my knowledge (which doesn't mean a heck of a lot) his English origins have not been discovered yet. Anderson speculates that "Robert Allen of Salem and Norwich" was the brother of William Allen of Salem/Manchester, Mass. I think he's referring to our Robert Allyn of Norwich. He gives a fairly thorough sketch of William Allen in "The Great Migration Begins". He stated the origin of William was unknown. Caulkin's History of Norwich reports Robert was from: Manchester, Lancastershire, England, source not cited. Would appreciate input if you believe Robert of Norwich is in the above family and the reasoning for that.. and then if there is any confirmation of his being brother of William of Salem/Manchester.
