I would imagine you know of Alsop en le Dale, a small village north east of Parwick. This I believe is where the Alsops originate. The name started out as Ealishop or something close to that around the tenth century, so on that basis I believe we are all distant relatives. My research is fast becoming a one name study in an an attempt to find this Charles Wallis Allsopp, fathered by Thomas Allsopp.
I have been to Alsop en le Dale and Hindlip Hall, and the graves of the Alsops have many different spellings.
I have no direct documented connection with your folk at this time, but I have a feeling once I find the connection of one Thomas Allsopp it will all come together. I have some more information on the history of the Allsops if you are interested.
Regards Terry Allsopp
