I am trying to find the Parents or family or Martha Allred,
born May 29, 1776 in Guildford Co., NC (Part that is now Randolph Co.) She died August 12, 1846 in Henry Co., IN and is buried at the Old Knightstown Cemetery, Henry Co., IN. She married abt. 1797 to Joab Rains in Randolph Co., NC, which was established in 1789 old of the southern part of old Guildford Co. The dates of her life comes from the gravestone of Martha Rains buried next to her husband Joab. Her last name was given in a bio of a grandson Hiram while he was still alive as where Joab and Martha at the time, so he knew his grandparents in Indiana. It the article is is written as Martha Alred, but I am fairly sure that the correct spelling is Allred as this name appears around the Rains in Randolph Co. at times. I have been looking at Solomon Allred and Matha Weeks, thinking perhaps her mother is her name sake. Can any one help me in this area. Joab Rains was born in VA, probably Caroine Co, in 1770 and by 1772 they were in southern part of old Guildford, now Randolph Co., NC when brother Asahel Rains was born. His parents are George Rains and Rosannah Graham. Any help appreciated. Thanks.
