Teri: The counties I refer to in my original message are located in north central Arkansas right on the Missouri border. They seem to have accumulated a good number of settlers from Alabama not long before the Civil War. I just have not been able to find any family members who recall where in Alabama the family came from (most are now quite elderly or have passed away). Any light you can shed or directions you might suggest I take would be most appreciated.
