I have worked on these families and Dewel Lott of Alabama has done a book on them. This Thomas (born in 1775) was married to Margaret Alldredge, daughter of Nathan Alldredge. I has not been determined who this Thomas was. Dewel thinks he was the son of Thomas & Elizabeth of Orange & Randolph County, NC; however, there was another Thomas in NC at the same time this AL Thomas Allred was not in NC. The prevailing theory has been that Margaret Chaney was married to John Allred who died in 1790; however, Margaret Allred was head of household in 1790. I found two copies (one hand-written and one typed from two different descendants or relatives of the author) of a Harvey history in which Margaret "Peggy" Chaney (dau. of Francis) was the wife of Theophilis Allred, There was a man named Theophilis Allred listed as a creditor of a Col. McGee in the mid-1770s, but there isn't a lot more than this. Apparently Margaret & Theophilis had at least a son named Jonathan who went to Overton County, TN. If you would like more info about Moses and Thomas in Alabama, let me know.
