Nathan,
Sorry but it appears you are reading the Red Book, "Allred's in America" as though there are no errors. The Richmond County, NC Allreds went to Barnwell Co, SC and KY after leaving NC. Most of them show up in Overton County, TN "District 9." Some Randolph Co, NC Allred's settled in Dist 10 Overton Co, TN. Solomon "Jr" of the Red Book was one of them. In 1810, Rebecca Allred Stingfellow and her husband, William, lived next to Phineas Allred in Barnwell Co, SC. In 1830 Rebecca Allred Stringfellow lived next to the 80-89 year old (b. 1841-1850) Solomon Allred in Dist 9 of Overton Co, TN. The Solomon Allred "Jr" living next to him in Dist 9 was my gggggrandfather Solomon and his wife, Averetta who were still there in the 1850 Census. When the older Solomon died, my Solomon and his brother, William signed a document giving up any claim to the land that their brother John had received after the death of the older Solomon about 1835. After researching my line back to Overton Co, TN, Dist 9, I personally bought the Red Book from Rulon Clark Allred at his place of business in Salt Lake City where he was murdered several years later. I asked him about my line which he connected to Solomon "Sr" and Phineas in the Red Book and he said that his researchers spent most of their efforts on the Randolph Co, TN lines and that some folks had already pointed out some errors on the Solomon line. He asked me to send any corrections and my line and he would put it in the next edition. Something I regret not doing. My DNA seemed to match more closely to those in the Thomas Allred line rather than the Solomon "Sr" who moved from Randolph to Richmond Co, NC and died there about 1771. I have a strong feeling that the Solomon who died about 1835 in Overton Co, Dist 9, was a brother to Phineas and Rebecca. Unless Phineas is using another name after the 1810 census, he disappears between 1810 and 1820.
There is documentation that shows that your Solomon IV was really the son of Solomon II and lived in Randolph County until he moved to Overton Co, TN Dist 10 before 1830. He is still alive in 1850. The one you listed as Solomon III who lived in Richmond County, NC and born between 1741-1750 and died about 1835 had a son, Solomon, who was born in 1784 in Richmond Co, NC and is living next to him in Overton Co, TN Dist 9 in 1830. I do believe that the Rachel Allred who married Samuel Addison Looper is the daughter of the Solomon who died about 1835 in Dist 9, Overton Co, TN.
