Stringfellow/Allred - Barnwell Co, SC; Overton Co, TN

Cynthia,
I have just started on the Stringfellow line to try and get past some road blocks on my Allred line. It sounds like we can help each other out.

I will toss out this bit that I just found and need to follow up.

TABLE OF CONTENTS: OVERTON COUNTY, TENNESSEE, CIRCUIT COURT MINUTES; OCTOBER 1856 January 1860
PAGE 204
Bailey ALRED Vs. Samuel A. LOOPER, Jr. Administration of the last will & testament of Rebecca STRINGFELLOW

My believe that Rebecca is the daughter/sister of Phineas. Johnathan is listed as his son who originally stayed behind in Richmond Co, NC when others went to Barnswell Co, SC and Overton Co, TN. Samuel A Looper, Jr married Rachel Allred, whom I believe is another daughter/sister of Phineas and moved to Overton Co, TN. I believe that Phineas' father/grandfather, Solomon, died in Richmond Co, NC about 1770. However, although my line is listed as belonging to Phineas, I believe it was through another Solomon who was age 80 to 89 (b. 1741 to 1750) in 1830 Census and then died about 1835. Rebecca lived a few doors away during this time...as did my gggggrandfather Solomon (b.~1784 in Richmond Co, NC) Allred and wife, Averetta ?, as well as my ggggrandfather, Solomon A Allred (b. abt 1823 in TN) who married Sarah Jane Weeks abt 1843 in Overton Co, TN.

Previous research listed my Solomons through Phineas but I believe that might be in error. No one has reseach info on the older Solomon (1830 Overson census)...either a brother or father to Phineas. I have too much to share for this small space.

For some reason after I changed ISPs and got a firewall I was no longer able to see researcher's email addresses Genforum. Please contact me at my email address, cowboy2004@adelphia.net ---thanks, Jim p.s. I hope you do not mind me posting your comments on Allred genforum. You have some good Allred info and I noticed you had not posted on the Allred Forum. There is another possible son, Azariah, to Phineas and the researcher also has a Coward line. Since I can not see the email address of either of you, this is the only way to connect you two.

Jim
Just wanted to let you know I read your posting. I have folders scattered right now trying to enter some new information I found in Barnwell records.

There was a Rebecca Stringfellow, widow to William Stringfellow. His "worthy friend" Johnathan Allred was an executor of his estate. I believe the will was written in 1812. I will check my notes.

A Phineas Allred is said to be the father of my Lavina Allred Coward married to Cullen Coward. There is another Lavinia or Lavina (different spellings) that married a Stephen Coward. That isn't my Lavina. I think that the two families have been mixed together in some people's data. I think that the other Lavinia was daughter of a Jonathan Allred. I have found one mention of a Phineas in land records in Barnwell as a chain carrier. Mostly Jonathon Allred listed.

Concerning the Stringfellows, a Henry Stringfellow maybe the father to my Leroy Stringfellow. I am still trying to put that puzzle together. A Henry Stringfellow was listed as a son to the William Stringfellow I mentioned above. I hope this helps some and doesn't add to confusion. Feel free to contact my email address. If interested I can email pic of William's will.
