Hi Dee,
I don't have his will information here right now. But from my census search, he is the only one who has a daughter the right age to be the father of my ancestor, Melissa Allred. She was born Aug 6, 1814 in Randolph Co, NC and died in Morgan Co, Indiana April 6, 1892. She married in 1834, so her name wouldn't be listed in the census with her parents.

Any info you have on Joseph and his family would be great, even if you don't have Melissa listed as a child. I'm having trouble finding info on him anywhere on the internet.

Thanks,
Michele

P.S. Here are 2 obits for Melissa:
Obituary,"Taken from Morgan co., Indiana paper (probably Martinsville Republican)"
April 1892
Maliza Allred was born in Randoph county, North Carolina, August 3, 1814, died April 6, 1892, aged 77 years, 8 months and 3 days. She joined the M.E. Church at the age of 14 years, and was married to Aaron York, October 26, 1834. To this union 6 children were born, all of whom survive their mother, save one; John Newby, who died at the age of 18. Sister and brother York walked life's path together 57 years, 8 months and 3 days. For two years she was a constant sufferer and she often expressed a desire to go home and be at rest.

another obit. reads:
Mrs. Aaron York, who had been ill for several years, died some two weeks ago. She was interred at West Union. Her huband, Aaron York, is an aged gentleman, and is left to walk the path of life alone. He will make his home with his son, Martin at Gasburg."
