Hi James, sorry it has take so long to respond to your e-mail. I have very little information on the Allport family, and most of it is not documented very well. My ancestor is Noah Allport, brother to your GGGrandmothe Emma Syner. Their parents were Noah Allport born @ 1816 at Brierley Hill, Staffordshire, England and Mary Ann ? born about 1823 based on UK census records on the internet. I have 6 children, Noah, Emma, Kezia, Ann, Thomas and Agnas. William and Emma came to the US May 22, 1882 on the City of Rome out of Liverpool, England and landing in New York. According to ship records there were several children, Thomas, Harry, Ann, Keggen?, arthur and Francis. Emma's brother Noah, followed in December of that year and his family arrived in May of 1883. There is a Noah Allport that fits the age profile of Emma and Noah's father that came over from England in 1886, but I,m not sure iif it is him.

A history of Fayette County, WV published in 1993 has a small story about Willima and Emma Syner along wiht a picture. Have you seen this?

Hope to hear from you soon,
Irene
