READ THIS if you or an ALLISON relative has done DNA testing with Ancestry.com
I received the following email today:
On Thursday, June 5, 2014, Ancestry.com announced that they will no longer sell male Y-chromosome (Y-DNA) and female mitochondrial (mtDNA) tests. Additionally, customers’ DNA test results from past Y-DNA and mtDNA tests will no longer be available from Ancestry.com after September 5, 2014.
There is no guarantee on what the future holds for Ancestry.com's autosomal DNA offering. If you or an ALLISON relative has done DNA testing with Ancestry.com, it is strongly recommended that you transfer your Y-DNA and Autosomal DNA to the company that is conducting the Allison/Ellison DNA Project AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.That company’s main focus is genetic genealogy and is committed to supporting these valuable genealogical tests today and in the future.Unfortunately, mtDNA test results are not transferable because of compatibility issues.
Please contact me (yonanatfgidotnet)privately if you want to transfer your Y-DNA or autosomal DNA test results from Ancestry.com to the company conducting the Allison/Ellison DNA Project.I will send you information about how to make the transfer and the cost to do so.The cost ranges from less than $20 to less than $70 depending on the test results that you want transferred. It will be a wise investment and will prevent the loss of your valuable DNA test results.
Sincerely,
Mary Allison Yonan
