When Charity Hammon completed her Indian Application, I think she was quite confused when she talked about her Allison relatives. She had probably heard talk that someone , not Charity Elmore Allison, had Native American heritage but I'm sure that Charity, wife of William Allison is not the correct person . Through records I feel that we have proof that Charity Elmore who married William Allison in Wilkes Co., NC in 1793 (Public Record) was an Elmore by birth. Confusion about family history was quite common in the early days especially when the generations were far back and not in the present. William Allison,Jr. and family lived in Wilkes Co., NC, Bedford Co., TN, Marion Co., TN and probably other unknown places
