I have a James to add to your JAMES ALLISON research. He is listed in the 1830 census of Montgomery Co, IN. MY ancestor JOHN ALLISON is also listed in 1830 in that county.I can only guess that James is the father of JOHN.
James was born between 1760-1770. JOHN was born in 1804 in PA. In a recent DNA test I matched a person who's ancestor is Theophilus ALLISON living in Iredell, NC in 1790.
I think JAMES ALLISON is the JAMES ALLISON living in Toby, Armstrong CO,PA in 1820. James could be the son of ROBERT ALLISON living in Westmoreland Co.PA in 1800. Also ROBERT could be a brother of THEOPHILUS in North Carolina or his Uncle.
Any help to trace JOHN ALLISON b.1804 PA to THEOPHILUS in North Carolina.
