Richard Allison married 1) Eleanor Whitaker and 2) Mary Ricketts. The children of the second marriage were:

George, born about 1842
Benjamin, born about 1844
Richard, born about 1846
Thomas, born about 1848, married Mary Elvira Bird, 5 Jan 1869, McDowell County
Rebecca, born about 1850
Lucille, born 6 Jan 1853, died 30 Mar 1929, married Thomas Jefferson Jordan about 1870
James Richard, born 5 Aug 1855, died 15 Nov 1909

Rebecca and James were born blind. "Blind Jimmy" became a preacher, is buried in Old Fort's Old Ebenezer Cemetery.
