Rarely does any family get to celebrate a 350th anniversary and unfortunately most families can not trace their roots back that far for one reason or another to claim such an occasion. But thanks to the last decade of the genealogy boom in the United States more and more families are discovering their heritage and are finding occasions to unite and celebrate. For the Allison Family, this occasion if upon us, the anniversary of the voyage and the landing in the ‘New World’ in 1658. Think about this, 350 years of history that predates the birth of our great nation! 350 years folks, how many families came make such a claim? Rarely does any family have the capability to hold a national reunion to celebrate such a grand occurrence. For the Allison Family, we have the National Allison – Allanson Family Association to thank for giving us a once in a life time opportunity to commemorate our common immigrant ancestor, Lord Thomas Allanson, and his descendents. The Hancock County, WV Allison’s will be there to represent our northern lines with an educational display of the Allison’s of Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia concentrating of the family lines of Charles and Barbara Moore-Allison. I encourage everyone and anyone with ties to the Allison Family to attend this joyous occasion and raise a toast to the past, present and future Allison’s. God Save the Queen and God Bless America!
