Mildred Thomas Adair was a daughter of John Adair. She Married John Rufus Newman. John Rufus Newman changed his name to John Rufus Allison. John Rufus Allison. John Rufus Newman/Allison was a son of Samuel Newman Jr. and Delany Butler. After the death of Samuel Newman Jr. Delany Butler Newman married Amos Allison. Samuel Newman Sr. was a brother of the John Newman that sold the land to Caleb Pitts. Samuel Newman Sr. purchased the land from Caleb Pitts in 1804.
Go to Cherokee Indian records. Adair family memberd married members of the Cherokee Nation Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama. You should be able to find the Cherokee Records in a good library.
