Hi Bonnie, I am related to David Allison through Louis Dortch Allison. I don't have much on the family, but will be glad to share what I have. David's parents may be William Allison (d. abt 12/15/1780 Old District, SC will)and Margaret Cunningham. David Allison was probably born about 1780 (place unknown). Dorcas was probably born after 1770 and died sometime before 1791. They probably had at least two children:

Louis Dorch Allison b. abt 1818 d about 1870 in Crawford Ark

Cunningham Allison d. abt 1829 in Bount Co. Alabama

I do not have my Allison notebook with me to tell you the source. It was probably Vicki Thompson. She did quite a lot of research a few years ago, mostly using census records and wills. I was also doing some research at the local library about that time.
