My G-G-grandparents were John Washington Allison and Ammaretta Ripley. He was born in Ohio about 1825? In the 1860 census St. Charles Twp. Floyd Co., Iowa, the following family members were named:John W. Allison, age 33 b. Ohio; Emaretta Allison (his wife) age 30, b. Ohio; John H. Allison, age 8, b. Ohio; Loberta E. Allison, age 6, b. Iowa; James E. Allison, age 4, b. Iowa; Thomas J. Allison, age 2, b. Ohio. The 1870 census shows the following children:John Henry Allison, Emeline, James E., Thomas, Mary, Charles,Perry? (or Percy?) or (Oroville?); and Martha J.,and Ada E. :/ John H. b. Ohio, Thomas b. Ohio, Perry b. Colorado, all the rest b. Iowa./ 1880 census Pleaseant Grove Twp. Floyd Co., Iowa, shows John Allison age 54, Amaretta, age 50, Charles, age 18, son; Oroville, age 14, son; Jane, age 14, dau.; Ada, age 12, dau.; Serepta, age 8, dau.; James, age 22, son; Thomas, age 21, son.
