Do you have any Allisons who married into the Cox families of North Carolina or Virginia? My g-g-g-grandparents, John Cox and Elizabeth UNKNOWN, lived in Stokes County, NC. in the early 1800's. One of their sons was named Allison Cox b. abt 1825. Family history says our Cox family is related to Allisons and Martins, although I have found no documentation yet. Some believe Elizabeth may have been an Allison. Since I can find no proof of John Cox's parents or Elizabeth's parents (maybe ALLISON), I would appreciate any information you might share which would shed light on this mystery.
