James,
The small town of Erath in McLennan County, Texas, was named for my wife's 3rd great grandfather George Bernard Erath (Texas Revolution veteran, Texas Ranger, Civil War veteran, surveyor, polititian, rancher/farmer) who lived in the area, and is about 10 miles northwest of Waco, Texas on farm to market road FM 1637.
