"A History Of Chester [Hancock County, WV]" Allison Research
Posted by: George Allison (ID *****4236) Date: February 13, 2003 at 08:48:27

For anyone researching the Allison's of Hancock County, WV, the book, 'The History of Chester Gateway to the West' by Roy C. Cashdollar, does a great justice for the Allison family. Though there are very few dates mentioned in the book for genealogical purposes, the book does hold many facts for historical research such as businesses, political positions held by Allison's, residences where some of the Allison's lived and overall fun facts. All of the Allison's and the other surnames tied to the Allison family in the book are descended from the early pioneer Allison's to Hancock County (then Brooke County, VA) out of Maryland; James Allison, Samuel Allison and Charles Allison. For anyone wanting to purchase/read this book contact The Tri-State Genealogical and Historical Society in Newell, WV by calling 1-304-387-2467 or by emailing jwaite@weir.net
(I am only a member of The Tri-State Genealogical and Historical Society and in no way associated in the sales of their books)
