Howdy Michael! Shawn-Paul Allison here. I received a book in the mail recently that traces back one of the Hancock Co., WV, Allison lines. All goes well....back to Thomas Allanson and Mary Roberts. Then, in a shaded area at the top of the page, it lists Thomas' parents as being Robert Allanson and Sara Spence. Robert's father was John Allanson of Windyedge, Avondale Co., Lanmark, Scotland; his father as John McAlister; and his father as Alexander of Allister of Argyleshire, Scotland. As far as I know....and as far as we all know...Thomas Allanson's father was Thomas. Have you ever heard of this line before? PLEASE...if anyone out there is new to this family and its research, DON'T COPY this and pass it around. The copy I have has NO documentation. I'm curious if this information is now making the rounds and who started it. If anyone has been able to go back beyond Thomas' father (Thomas Allanson), do you have the documentation?
Shawn-Paul Allison
