Nicki, Unfortunately, I don't have the volume number. The excerpt is taken from a handwritten transcription I found in my mother's research files. The specific reference information was unreadable.
The "Guide to the Draper Manuscripts" (editor Josephine L. Harper) includes an index to names, places, and events.I suspect that you can find the specific volume from there.
I'm planning a research trip to the State Historical Society of Wisconsin Library later this month. One of the things I wanted to accomplish during the trip was to read the rest of James Wade interviews. If I'm able to find them, I'll forward the reference to you.
Sorry I couldn't provide a complete reference.
