No, not what I consider concrete proof, but pretty good. See "Colonial Families of the United States", page 191. It makes reference to Thomas and says his first wife was "Mary Field, daughter of Henry Field" and his second wife was "Elizabeth Powell, whom he married in 1673".
Have not gotten to Northampton County, Virginia, and done any searching personally but have information from a cousin who did and wrote a book on the Alligood genealogy. Bardon Alligood published a book "The Children of Thomas Alligood" in 1980, and he personally searched the records in Northampton County and he also states she was Thomas's first wife.
See you spell the name "Allgood". Have found very few descendants of Thomas Alligood who spell it that way. Most spell it Alligood, Allegood, or Ellegood. Most of the Alligood and Allegood spelling you will find in North Carolina, Georgia, and Florida. Ellegood spelling is used by the descendants in Delaware, Maryland, Kentucky, Illinois and Canada. Of course you will find some of all the spelling in various States, but most if not all will trace back to the States noted above. There is a family name of ALLGOOD that is not related to this family group.
You may contact me direct if any more questions. Believe the Fields came from Ireland, but have no information on them other than Mary's father being a Henry Field.
