I'm working on the Algood/Allgood Family from Wilkes and Elbert Counties, GA. My family line is James F. Algood (1816 Elbert Co, GA) married to Susan W.Roberts and I find that there may be a connection between James F and John H through the widow Mrs Mary Allgood that first appears in the 1830 census and then is registered in marriage to a Hugh W Roberts in 1837 Elbert, GA, who appears to be the father of Susan W. The plot thickens in finding the Allgood Mary might have been married to - there is a Mary Farmington married to Peter Allgood in 1813 Wilkes, GA. Now if John H (1834 later of Athens) was the son of Mary Farmington my question is - Is the middle name for John's son spelled correctly in the posting or might it actually been Farmington for his grandmother's maiden name? Anyone out there got actual documentation for the spelling of James Ferrington Allgood's middle name? I haven't found any census records that list him anything other than James F. All thoughts appreciated!!! KC Notify Administrator about this message?
