I'd love to know which Allgood your Elizabeth Bentley was married to. Allgoods lived in Nottoway Parish of Amelia Co. from the 1750s, but most moved on before 1803. Edward, William and John are the most common given names in the family. I do know that an Edward died in Amelia Co. in 1783. Samuel Bentley was the administrator for his estate, and among those who bought things at the estate sale were Samuel, Samuel Jr., Daniel and Jeremiah Bentley. In the "First Census" of Virginia (taken from state enumerations 1782-85) was listed a Mary Allgood with 10 whites in her household. I assume she was Edward's widow, but I have no idea who their children were. Also buying things at the estate sale were John, John Jr. and William Allgood.

What exactly was the document in which Elizabeth was named?
