It sounds like John Young Allgood is the right one. Not sure how Lawrence and Tom are related--I just remember talking with them years ago and one or both of them mentioning the Allgood Methodist Church and saying that a lot of their ancestors were buried there. Tom, who would be past 100 if he were living, died about 10-15 years ago.
Lawrence, who is close to 90 if not in his 90's was still living the last I heard. My father is almost 82, and Lawrence is a good bit older than my father. Haven't seen him in years. Lawrence and Tom were both good singers. Lawrence especially--he was one of the best bass singers I ever sang with. He could go all the way down to the C below the bass clef and make it sound easy.
