I have been on vacation and just found the message from May 22nd and I was so excited! I'm feel pretty sure that this Thomas is my ggg grandfather. And Peter would be my gggg grandfather. Do you have any more information? Are you related to this line of Alleys?
In studying the census records, I believe that Thomas and William were together in Indiana (they are in the 1840 census). Then it appears that William may have died and Thomas took in some of his children and maybe children from another sibling also.
I would love to hear from you.
