Hello again Patrick,
Just to correct what I said in my last message- my husband is a descendant of Frederick James Alley, son of John (NOT Captain) Alley, who was one of the sons of Captain John Alley of Queens County Ireland. I missed one generation out!
John Alley and I think one other brother, Henry, emigrated to NZ, and other brothers and sisters went to the USA.
I tried again to get into your website but can't get anything to appear except your photo, there are no links or buttons or anything on it.
I have pasted in a copy of an email sent to me by Joy Kimsey with the following info which may be more in your line, contact me for her email if you would like to get in touch with her:

"Frederick Alley immigrated to America about 1856. He was in the Civil War in
the Wisconsin 40th Infantry 1862-65. He married Mary Caroline Nelson 7 Apr
1866 in Waukesha County, Wisconsin. He had two degrees from the College at
Beliot College in Beloit, Wisconsin, and was a Congregational Minister.
They went to Cass co Nebraska where two of his children were born. Then on
two Saline County Nebraska were the rest of his children were born and he was
a minister and was instrumental in starting Doane College. Later on they
moved to Denver where he retired and they ran a boarding house. They died
and are buried in Denver, Colorado.

5. Elizabeth M Alley born July 1876 Saline county, Nebraska, married Charles
Towles
6. Gertrude Helen born March 1880 Saline County, Neb and married a man named
Noble. She is the one who gave the information on Fredericks death
certificate and put the name Sythes. That name could easily be wrong. She
also put the name Capt John Alley as the father.

This is about all that I know and I am trying to contact more of their
descendents and would love to have what you know.
It was great to hear from you
Joy "

Please contact me when you can.
Rosie Alley
