I am searching for any information on my great(3)grandfather, David Jesse Alley of Scott County, VA. He was born ca 1834, was a preacher and served in the 64th VA Mounted Infantry, CSA during the Civil War. The last record I have for him is his appearance in the 1880 Federal census for Scott County. He appears in the Floyd District as follows:

David J. Alley 47, farmer
Mary 47, nee Williams
Nancy J. 17, my great(2)grandmother
Isaac P. 16
David B. 14
Sarah C. 11
Thomas J. 9
Abijah 6
Emily M. 3
Lloyd C. 5/12 (February)

Any info on David J. or any of his children would be most welcome. His death date, and where he is buried are 2 major mysteries for me. I'm happy to exchange information.
