Born in N.C. Md 1811 to Martha A. Cato (Patsy) 1797-1855 Sisters Elizabeth b 1812 Matilda 1814-1889, Levina 1815-1888, Betsy 1820-1869, Martha Ann 1828-1899 and Mary ca 1830-1901. The M stands for Marion . Francis Marion during the Revolutionary War in South Carolina was known as The Swamp Fox
