My recently published book "Walter Alley and Related Families of The Tenn. Valley: A Collection of Genealogies," begins with Walter, the earliest known progenitor of this line, and his wife Jane Gilliland. It identifies their known descendants and includes related families and their ancestors. This 6 x 9 book has 412 pages and consists of over 6500 fully indexed names. The thirteen principal families related to Walter shown herein are: Arendt, Brown, Cox, Dame, Gilliland, Hawk, Jones, Kelly, McMahan, Oyler, Ridley, Schoolfield, and Wilson, many of whom also have complete lineages listed. Some of their related families and ancestors, who have partial lineages listed, are Bennett, Crawford, Davis, Gay, Goble, Graham, Greene, Grider, Gunter, Jennings, Loyd, Martin, Pettus, Rankin, Russell, Shepherd, Smith and Wimberly, plus many more.
