I am searching for descendants of Joe F. Alley and Mandy Jones Alley who are buried in the Bethel Cemetery south of Whitewright on US Highway 160 in Grayson County, Texas.

Alley graves in the cemetery are:

Alley, Charles 1906-1981 US Army WWII
Alley, Joe F. 1863-1937
Alley, Mandy 1870-1956
Alley, Willie E 1910-1965
Alley, Jesse Clarence Sep 16, 1901-May 03, 1969

Davis, Vera Mae Alley Apr 04, 1903 - Feb 27, 1976 (born Blue Ridge, Collin County, TX, dau. of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Alley, wed Stanley Davis 1946 in Greenville, Hunt County, TX)

Mandy Jones Alley was a sister to John Dee Jones, who was my great-grandfather. She was born and probably married in either Lawrence County, TN or Lauderdale County, AL (which are adjacent on the TN-AL state line).

They moved to TX around 1900, give or take a few years. My grandmother told me they "ran a store".

Mandy Jones Alley also had a brother named Bill Jones whose wife's maiden name was also Alley. I speculate that she may have been a sister to Mandy's husband, Joe Alley.

William H. (Bill) Jones, and apparently several family members, are buried at the Blue Ridge Cemetery, Collin County, TX.

Jones graves in that cemetery are:

Jones, A. C. Buck, 1905-1992
Jones, Jesse Jack, 1928-1994
Jones, Mary E., 1874-1943 (probably Ms. Alley who mrrd Bill Jones)
Jones, Mary Florance, 1893-1967
Jones, N. M., 1859-1924
Jones, Opal May, 1912-1912, dau. of W. E. and M. E. Jones
Jones, Rhoda A., 1897-1957 (dau. of Bill Jones)
Jones, Rollie Lee, 1892-1972
Jones, S. W., 1851-1930
Jones, Susan Ethel, 1899-1867
Jones, Wanda Avora, 1933-1987
Jones, William H., 1872-1956 (probably Bill Jones)

I am not sure that all of these Jones were related, but I am listing them here in case some one can make a connection.

My grandmother remembered that Bill Jones and wife had a daughter she called Rhodie and two sons, one of whom was mentally handicapped.

I would love to make a connection with these long-lost cousins and to share family information and photos.

Sincerely,

Steve Springer
grandson of Mattie Bell Jones Springer
