Just a few hints:
James L. Alley (1728-1798/99) was living in the Stoney Creek area of present day Scott Co, VA on land adjacent to his son Thomas Joseph(c1750-5/24/1834). Thos. J. was a member of the Stoney Creek Primitive Baptist Church until 1804 when he was expelled for defying Baptist ways. Since this church wasn't organized until 1801, James L. WAs probably buried in a family cemetary which has since been plowed over.

Thos. J. entered 4 surveys on Copper Creek & moved from his Stoney Creek/Clinch River farm to his properties on both sides of Plank Camp Creek which is on the north side of Copper Creek. This area, now known as Alley Valley has at least a half a dozen old cemetaries with numerous unmarked grave sites. Thos. J. is probably buried in one of those unmarked sites.

Thos J. was my 3g grandfather via David Jesse (1791-1834) who died of typhoid, David Jesse, Jr (1832-1921),Nancy Jane (1861-1937) who married Wm Benton Pendleton, & Emma Alley Pendleton (1893-1938) my mom.

Sorry I couldn't provide firm burial sites. Good luck on your search.
