Hi,
I wonder if you can tell me anything more re: William Cato Alley? How do you know that he is also known as Willis Alley? And do you have any idea why he was named "William Cato"? I am researching the Cato family and know that a Willis Alley married a Patsy Cato in Davidson Co TN in 1811 (bondsman was Joseph Alley). Some of this family may have gone to MO. Just wondered about the origin of the name "William Cato Alley."
Thanks,
Cynthia
